What’s a struggle you have faced as a woman in the industry?
The main struggle I have dealt with is feeling heard and being taken seriously. I have been in this industry for 6 years, started in a dispensary with lots of knowledge and passion for cannabis and realized I had to work a little bit harder than my male counterparts to be taken seriously by patients. Fast forward to working cultivation which, I have been doing for about 5 years now, has been more male dominant than a dispensary. I’m lucky to have such great coworkers and the more the industry grows the more women are getting recognized!
Why did you want to work in the cannabis industry?
My mom was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 17 years ago. I watched her struggle with pharmaceuticals for years just trying to find something to help ease the pain. I wanted to help find relief for my mom and her ongoing battle with chronic pain. Little did I know how big of a door I would open, not only for my mom but, for other family members and friends struggling and looking for pain relief!
How do you empower other women in the cannabis industry?
By creating a sisterhood with every woman I come across! I try to uplift other women and let them know they are not alone. Spreading love and kindness to everyone no matter their walk of life. Remembering everyone by name, and reminding them of their importance and contribution they have simply by being a woman working in the cannabis industry.
What’s your favorite Halo Infusions product?
I love the Cannabliss Spicy Gummies! There isn’t anything else like it on the market. And they really do have a kick to them! I love the spiciness, I love the potency. They are great. 10/10!
