What’s a struggle you have faced as a woman in the industry?
I think it’s been really challenging to have men look at you as an equal and a lot of times we get taken advantage of because we are women. Even other women have done this to other women. You know what I mean? It’s learning to trust the right people and to go into business with the right people. To make alliances as women we need to follow our gut and our instinct. Sometimes things look really shiny and pretty and you wanna go for it but do a little gut check first.

Why did you want to work in the cannabis industry?
My daughter Yazzy, who is now 21, back when she was 14 years old she had spinal fusion surgery and was prescribed opioids and she fell terribly ill due to the prescription. She had an adverse effect of her GI system and it completely paralyzed her stomach so she has a surgical tube that has been placed in her stomach where she gets formula and most of her nutrition. It’s totally different for us. So, obviously life is completely different and as a mom just being desperate looking for other options to help my daughter with her nausea, pain, and suffering. I found cannabis! I saw other parents were using it for cancer related issues and they had similar symptoms my daughter was having from gastroparesis. We tried it and it worked amazingly. Almost immediately we saw a difference and i felt so compelled to share this message with other parents who might also be skeptical and unsure what they should do.

How do you empower other women in the cannabis industry?
Via Blunt Brunch. It is an event series for executive women in cannabis and through our events we are able to have blunt conversations about things that women are going through. We come together as a community to help uplift each other and I feel like your vibe attracts your tribe and that’s exactly what Blunt Brunch is. It’s a true testament of what Adelia and I envisioned for ourselves and we are now in 5 different states. Hosting big national events with hundreds of women that come from all over the nation. It’s really exciting to have a space where women can be vulnerable but also be celebrated.

What’s a struggle you have faced as a woman in the industry?
I think not being taken seriously. It’s always gonna be a challenge, right? Just making sure I’m standing up for myself and for women in the area and just saying “hey, we are serious, we’re here to stay and we’re not going anywhere.”

Why did you want to work in the cannabis industry?
So, cannabis has always been a big part of my life. I struggled with PTSD and trauma and it has really helped me just kind of focus on myself. I really use it predominantly when I do yoga practice or just trying to find a calm state of mind. That is kind of what drew me to it in the first place. Also, I just really love people I love connecting and the people in this industry are just incredible. I mean we can’t find this in any other industry. This is home for me.

How do you empower other women in the cannabis industry?
I empower them to speak up, and continue to reach for those upper-level upper-management level positions. I think that is what will really help this cannabis industry grow, right? You know men have a leg up where we don’t and I think that the platform is starting to really change where we can get to that point where you know we are bringing something new that they are not, fresh perspectives. We offer something they don’t.

What’s a struggle you have faced as a woman in the industry?
As a woman I feel like I’ve had to tone myself down in many different instances In this community (Blunt Brunch) I feel like it gives women the empowerment to be able to speak up for themselves and do things that they truly believe in and allowing that space to be open.

Why did you want to work in the cannabis industry?
I love cannabis. I feel like it is an honor to be in this cannabis industry. It is hard to get in the cannabis industry and it is just a beautiful thing to be working with the plant. I started in the industry as a trimmer and for me it was the beauty of the plant, the structure of the plant, and helping patients. Definitely a passion for patients.

How do you empower other women in the cannabis industry?
Definitely to follow your dreams, follow what you believe in, and follow your passion. I think in cannabis there is an unlimited amount of opportunity and coming to these events really opens up those opportunities, it opens your eyes to what is available and I would just say to follow your dreams.

What’s your favorite Halo Infusions product?

What’s a struggle you have faced as a woman in the industry?
I think just finding that a lot of people, because I am woman, because I am small, don’t tend to take me serious until I kind of spit out a little bit of knowledge and show them that I am an OG. People taking me serious has always been the biggest issue.

Why did you want to work in the cannabis industry?
I broke my back, tore my rotator cuff, and broke my jaw when I was 17, that is what brought me to cannabis because I’m allergic to pharmaceutical medicine. Cannabis and herbal medicine was an immediate go-to for me, I’m kind of a nerd and I love to do research so the two kinda came in hand.

How do you empower other women in the cannabis industry?
Always supporting. There is no competition when it comes to me and any other woman that I work with. Other brands that I work with are nothing but community, this industry was built on community and we have to keep it that way.

What’s your favorite Halo Infusions product?
I love the Chronic Health THC relief lotion, it is a go-to of mine since I broke my back when I was 17 and had to deal with a ton of pain. What’s a struggle you have faced as a woman in the industry?
I am a woman in 2 industries of all men. Insurance is traditionally all men, a very, very, small percentage of women and so is cannabis as we all know. So, I think the struggle that I face the most is probably a lot of business owners think that insurance is something that should be handled by a man and so I sometimes have to bring in a male counterpart in order to be recognized as an insurance professional.

Why did you want to work in the cannabis industry?
I got into the cannabis industry in 2021 so, it’s been 2 years and the reason I decided to make my specialization cannabis is because I realized there was no one else in the market in Arizona that was really focusing on cannabis from an insurance standpoint. Then I realized after talking with just 3 people that everybody needed a lot of help. It’s a completely uneducated industry in terms of insurance and you all have been taken advantage of a lot.

How do you empower other women in the cannabis industry?
Blunt Brunch! I like to provide a space for women to be able to come together and just really be honest with each other and to use each other to get ahead in business and friendships. I’ve made some of my best friends doing Blunt Brunch and being able to sell my business but then also sell our friendships to each other that way people can collaborate and be friends.

What’s your favorite Halo Infusions product?
I like the 1:1 Chronic Health tincture, it is my go to for stressful situations. 1-2 drops eases my anxiety during stressful times without any intoxicating effects. Love it!!!
