What’s a struggle you have faced as a woman in the industry?
Having enough of a voice at the table is difficult as a woman, there is definitely a bro club within the cannabis industry so, it can be difficult to network and find other women that you can connect with. Everything is so male centered and just being able to create change and to be on the forefront of innovation is more difficult as a woman. People expect women to be softer and sometimes are perceived as overly emotional when really we are just all about business.

Why did you want to work in the cannabis industry?
I entered the industry in a retirement community that had a lot of veterans, a lot of older people, people that had been struggling to get off opiates and so I could physically see the day to day change that cannabis was making in these people’s lives. It is that experience that has carried me through all the stress and all the worry and all the moving parts of the industry that are constantly hard to keep up with. Just knowing that you’re making a difference and having the experience of seeing that in the patients day to day is well worth it.

How do you empower other women in the cannabis industry?
I try to talk to other women about my experiences and we find that they are common struggles. There are things that we all deal with that make us feel less alone and it makes us feel like we can overcome those obstacles. I realized I had to be a social person because it can be real easy to feel like to you are on an island when you are the only woman at the executive table. I’m just always vulnerable and open with people, in a way we can create solutions.

What’s your favorite Halo Infusions product?
